2011 Brings Changes to SMcRT Leadership

Effective January 1, 2011, a new command crew took the helm of the SMcRT. Following an interview and selection process in early December 2010, the Executive Steering Committee chose Jeff Lyle (Boston Hts. PD) as the new Administrative Commander and Brian Battaglia (Hudson PD) as the new Operations Commander. Additionally, Rob Molody (Stow PD) was appointed as Assistant Operations Commander.

Congratulations to these fine individuals!

Lyle and Battaglia are replacing Dann Nivens (Silver Lake PD) and Jonathan Bastock (Stow PD) both founding members of the SMcRT and who have served since the Team's inception. Nivens and Bastock both are taking a hiatus for personal reasons but will continue with the SMcRT as members of the Executive Steering Committee.

The Administrative Commander is responsible for all mutual aid compacts and agreements between the participating agencies as well as interaction with private, local, state and federal organizations for the advancement of the SMcRT's objectives.

The Operations Commander(s) are responsible for the day to day functions of the Team and the review of current investigations and communications with requesting agencies as well as personnel issues and training.

The Executive Steering Committee is the controlling authority of the SMcRT and is responsible for establishing and maintaining best practices, policies and procedures and summary review of SMcRT activity and investigations.

Again, CONGRATULATIONS Jeff, Brian and Rob!
